Privacy Policy
What we collect, why, how we use it, and your rights — under Australian privacy law and GDPR where applicable.
Última actualización: 10 de mayo de 2026
RemotIQ Pty Ltd (ABN 91 682 628 128), incorporated in Australia and headquartered at #203 Hampton Rd, Northampton WA 6535, takes your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the rights you have over your data. It applies to our website at edgeservers.com.au, all services we provide, and all interactions you have with us.
We comply with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), and where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the UK GDPR, and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). Where this policy and a signed engagement contract or Data Processing Agreement (DPA) overlap, the contract prevails.
Information we collect
We deliberately collect the minimum information needed to do business with you. The information we collect falls into a few categories.
Information you provide directly
When you contact us through the website, we collect your name, email, company, industry, and the message you send. When you apply for a role through our Careers page, we collect your name, email, phone (optional), cover letter (optional), and the PDF resume you attach. When you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email and your selected locale.
Information you provide as part of an engagement
If you become a client, we collect billing details (entity name, address, ABN/VAT, payment instrument details handled by our payment processor), the names and contact details of your project stakeholders, and any data you choose to share with us during service delivery — including but not limited to source code, infrastructure credentials, business records, and communications.
Information collected automatically
When you visit the site, our hosting provider (Vercel) and our analytics layer (where enabled) record server logs that include your IP address, the browser and device you used, the URL you requested, the referring page, and the timestamp. The site stores small amounts of data in your browser localStorage to remember your theme preference, your locale suggestion choice, and your cookie consent state. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking.
How we use your information
We use the information we collect for a small, specific set of purposes — and we don't use it for anything else without your explicit permission.
We use your contact-form submission to respond to your inquiry. We use your newsletter subscription to send you the newsletter you signed up for, and nothing else. We use engagement data to deliver the services you have contracted us for, to invoice you, and to keep records that meet our legal and tax obligations. We use server logs to operate, secure, and debug the website.
Lawful bases for processing
Under the GDPR (where applicable), we rely on the following lawful bases: performance of a contract (for client engagement data and payment processing), consent (for newsletter subscription and non-essential cookies), legitimate interests (for security logs, fraud prevention, and responding to inbound inquiries), and legal obligation (for tax records and statutory disclosures).
How we share information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We share information only in the limited circumstances described below.
We share information with our subprocessors — third-party service providers we use to deliver our services. These currently include Vercel (hosting), Resend (transactional email), GitHub (source code hosting), our payment processor for invoicing, and Google Analytics (where you have consented). Each subprocessor is contractually bound to protect your information and to use it only for the purpose we engage them for. A current list of subprocessors is available on request.
We disclose information to law enforcement, regulators, courts, or other government authorities only where we are legally required to do so, and only to the minimum extent required. We notify you of any such request unless legally prohibited.
We disclose information to professional advisers (lawyers, accountants, auditors) under their own professional confidentiality obligations.
If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will provide notice before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
International data transfers
EdgeServers primary operations are in Australia. Some of our delivery and engineering work is performed by team members based in India. Where we transfer personal information outside the country in which it was collected, we rely on appropriate transfer mechanisms — including the EU Standard Contractual Clauses for transfers of EU/UK personal data — and we apply equivalent technical and organisational protections regardless of where the data is processed.
How long we keep your information
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes we collected it for, plus any period required by law.
Contact-form submissions are retained for 24 months and then deleted. Newsletter subscriptions are retained until you unsubscribe, after which we keep a suppression record so we do not accidentally email you again. Client engagement records are retained for the term of the engagement plus 7 years, in line with Australian tax and audit recordkeeping obligations.
How we protect your information
We apply industry-standard technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These include encryption in transit (TLS 1.2+), encryption at rest where supported by our infrastructure providers, role-based access control for staff, mandatory MFA on administrative accounts, regular vulnerability scanning, and signed Data Processing Agreements with our subprocessors. No system is perfectly secure; we will notify affected individuals and the relevant authorities promptly in the event of a personal data breach as required by law.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to correct it if it is inaccurate, to request its deletion, to restrict or object to certain types of processing, to receive a copy of your data in a machine-readable format (data portability), and to lodge a complaint with your data-protection authority — for Australia, the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@edgeservers.com.au with enough information to verify your identity and the request you are making. We will respond within 30 days. There is no charge for reasonable requests.
Children privacy
Our services are not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If we become aware that we have, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our practices, our services, or applicable law. The effective date at the top of this page indicates when the current version was published. For material changes, we will notify clients through their normal communication channel and update the effective date.
